 Microsoft Office 97
Almost since the rise in popularity of the GUI interface with Windows 3.1, Microsoft’s Office suite has been the dominant player. This version of Office includes the same gang as previous versions, namely: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. This was the version of office that brought us the infamous Clippy the office assistant that everyone grew to hate eventually, if not immediately. I think, for me, I just found Clippy to be a condescending little in-my-way character. When I just wanted to quickly get going, he was there to direct and annoy where his direction was not needed.
